After 15 years of successful run of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival and 10 very productive years of the Directors Across Borders project development program, GAIFF launches an innovative one-of-a-kind industry platform for the local, regional and international film professionals in Yerevan, Armenia. Together with our partners we are bringing the expertise of award-winning professionals to the participating filmmakers, providing year-round masterclasses and pitching, film/script development workshops, opening prospects for financing and co-production with Project and Work-in-progress Markets for the Lesser Caucasus region,
including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Iran.
International Co-Production
Local Cooperation
GAIFF Pro is dedicated to developing the film industry in Armenia through cooperation and community empowerment. CineThink will arrange two-month-long trainings for local filmmakers and provide them with an opportunity to pitch their projects to local and international investors at the end of the training. There will also be master classes and round table discussions organized, as well. At the same time, CineThink aims at developing and supporting film distribution and theatrical film viewing culture in the regions of Armenia.
Within the 10 years of initiative, our goal is to strengthen a cross-border platform for Armenian and Turkish filmmakers to develop and produce their films, establish co-productions and distribute their work across the two countries.
While maintaining established objectives of GAIFF such as encouragement of networking and cultural exchange across borders and preservation of the cultural diversity of the region, the festival adds new sector to its activities. In 2018 IN FOCUS will cover the CIS region and will consist of round table, panel discussions with the invited guests from the CIS countries, as well as selected film showcases from the region.
Where are we located?
As a part of GAIFF Pro, Cross-border Regional Co-production Market (C2C) is an international platform designed for the emerging filmmakers of the Lesser Caucasus region, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Iran, to develop their first or second feature film projects, as well as to pitch them to the accredited international film industry professionals, boosting and establishing co-productions across the borders.
